Cherry Tart
Enjoy these two separate tart recipes, one with a chocolate tart and the other with a lemon tart, both beautifully topped with cherries!
Impress your guests with beautiful tarts that look like they came from a fancy bakery. You can either buy simple tarts from the store and “dress them up”, or follow our recipes below to create your own chocolate and/or zesty lemon tarts.
The key ingredient that makes these taste and look fantastic is Cherries. Simply top your tarts with cherries and wait for your guests to be impressed!
Ingredients
Chocolate Tart with Cherries
- Pre-made tart shells (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted
Lemon Tart with Cherries
- Pre-made tart shells (store-bought or homemade)
- Zest and juice of 1 lemon
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted
Directions
Chocolate Tart with Cherries
- If using a store-bought chocolate tart shell, follow the package instructions for baking and allow it to cool. If making it from scratch, bake and cool your tart shell.
- In a heatproof bowl, combine the chopped dark chocolate.
- Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it’s almost boiling, then pour it over the chocolate. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled tart shell.
- Top the chocolate tart with fresh cherries.
- Refrigerate the tart for at least an hour to set the filling.
Lemon Tart with Cherries
- If using a store-bought lemon tart shell, follow the package instructions for baking and allow it to cool. If making it from scratch, bake and cool your lemon tart shell.
- In a heatproof bowl, combine the lemon zest and juice.
- Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it’s almost boiling, then pour it over the lemon zest and juice. Stir until well combined.
- Pour the lemon cream into the cooled tart shell.
- Top the lemon tart with fresh cherries.
- Refrigerate the tart for at least an hour to set the filling.
